Activities

Fjällriket Baggården has a beautiful mountain and cultural landscape. Here you can enjoy fantastic experiences of nature all year round, whatever the season. At the foot of Baggården (760 m above sea level) lies Lake Messlingen, and to the south you can see the mighty Anåfjället, with Blåstöten (1,332 m above sea level) as its highest peak. To the north lie Flatruet and Ruändan with Fiskhålsgraven, Evagraven and the rock paintings. With these mountain expanses and high mountains within walking or skiing distance, you live in the middle of paradise. In this beautiful mountain landscape there are large areas of old-growth forest, nature reserves and several well-preserved summer farms (fäbodar). Here you can truly enjoy the peace and quiet and unwind from everyday life.

Hiking

Mountain hiking in Fjällriket is the finest family adventure of the summer. From Fjällriket Baggården you can hike in the mountains straight from your cabin. The short, easy trails suit even families with small children. The trails are well marked, and if you want to challenge yourself, the choice is enormous.

Mountain biking

Fjällriket Baggården offers several mountain biking trails. Towards the mountain you can ride the Stadsårundan or Ruvallsrundan loops and then continue to the summit of Öster-Stoljan. In the village there are also several MTB loops of different lengths.

Fishing

Fjällriket Baggården has a fantastic location, within walking distance of many fine spots with good fishing. The river Mittån both west and east of Lake Messlingen. The river Stadsån (Stassån), which runs north of Baggården and eastwards before joining the Mittån. And a number of tarns in the mountains.

Cross-country skiing

Fjällriket Baggården can best be described as a paradise for cross-country skiing. 60 km of groomed tracks in an outstanding mountain landscape, with the mountain track on Flatruet as the jewel in the crown. Here it is calm, with no stress and no crowds.

Snowmobiling

Fjällriket Baggården is the perfect place for snowmobiling. We are part of one of Europe's largest snowmobile trail systems, covering over 600 km of groomed and marked trails. With us you can of course rent a snowmobile and buy a trail pass.

Snowkiting

Head up into the mountains and there are good opportunities for kiting. Ride along the mountain slopes with outstanding views. Flatruet is considered perhaps the best place for kiting in Sweden, with its flat high-mountain plateau. Up here the panoramic views stretch for miles!

Alpine skiing

Near Baggården there are fantastic alpine opportunities. Just around the corner is the scenic Kappruet, for the whole family. A little further away are larger resorts such as Funäsdalsberget, Ramundberget, Tänndalen, Tännäskröket and Vemdalen. All within an hour's drive.

Ski slope & snow park

At Baggården there is a smaller ski slope with various obstacles, jumps and forest runs. Perfect for beginners and little ones. The lift takes you easily up the slope for the next run. The slope is also right next to Baggården's inn (Wärdshus), where you can enjoy a well-earned break with warmth and food.
