Fjällriket Baggården is a true winter paradise for anyone who loves cross-country skiing. We have worked hard for several years to develop our own track system, which today covers more than 90 km of groomed tracks. The different tracks offer something for every kind of recreational skier. The Träningsspåret is for those who want to train technique and fitness. The Ruvallspåret, Svartmorspåret and Stadsåspåret all lie on a plateau of rolling bogs in a fantastic landscape with several windbreak shelters and rest areas. The mountain tracks, groomed up on Flatruet, are the jewels in the crown. Mountain skiing straight from the Flatruet parking area, with views stretching for miles in every direction. Here the Jämtland mountains tower in the north, Helags in the west and the mighty panorama of Anåfjället in the south. The tracks pass the canyons Fiskhålsgraven and Evagraven. A track is groomed all the way up to the summits of Öster- and Väster-Stoljan: a summit tour on cross-country skis!
There are several magical tours to choose from when the spring sun appears. Settle into a sun pit, feel the warmth of the sun and the calm that settles over the mountain.
Several meters of snow fall during the season, and together with Fjällriket Baggården's high altitude this means we can ski all spring. It is not at all unusual to ski on groomed tracks in early May. We groom all tracks with a snow groomer and can therefore maintain absolutely top quality.

What's new for 2027
- New PistenBully 400 – a brand-new snow groomer gives us higher capacity and even better opportunities to maintain high-quality tracks throughout the season.
- Two classic tracks + skate – the new machine makes it possible to groom two classic tracks with a wide skate lane in between.
- Svartmorspåren get longer – the tracks get a new route and become about 2 km longer.
- New Baggårdsspåret, approx. 4 km – a brand-new track starting right at the restaurant at Baggården.
- New climb from Backvallen – a new route up to the mountain tracks gives a better connection from Backvallen.
- Two rest areas at the mountain tracks – our goal is to set up two temporary rest areas along the mountain tracks this winter, where you can stop and take a break during your tour.
- Weather station and digital snow depth measurement – a new weather station at the mountain tracks, together with two digital snow depth gauges, provides current information on weather and snow depth in the track system.
- Improved track base – we continue our work to level and improve the base so that we can open the tracks earlier and with less natural snow.
- Easier to buy a trail pass – trail passes will be on sale at all track centers.
- The season pass also covers the lift at Baggården – from this winter, the lift at Baggården is included in the season pass.
Trail info
Träningsspåret (the training track)

Push hard on the way up, then enjoy the way down!
Träningsspåret is for those who really want to train, so don't be fooled by the low gradient. The track goes up and down several times, so you get to push hard on the uphills and then enjoy the downhills. The forest around Baggården and Träningsspåret is characterized by large, old spruces that are fantastically beautiful when snow decorates the branches.
You can start either at the track center at Baggården or from the Vargmyren parking area, and then ski across Vargmyren and on to Träningsspåret.
Distance: 3.8 km
Tip: Put on your headlamp and enjoy the magical forest in the evening
Ruvallspåret

Flat and lovely bog track with beautiful views eastward toward Särvfjället
Ruvallspåret is the flattest bog track in our track system and the easiest to ski. It offers beautiful views eastward toward Särvfjället, and Blåstöten to the south is of course visible in all its glory from this track too.
Along Ruvallspåret is the windbreak shelter called Bäverhyddan, a good place to stop and grill or just rest a little before the last kilometer home.
Distance: 7.8 km
Tip: Bring something to grill and stop at the Bäverhyddan shelter on the way back
Stadsåspåret

Ski with wide views early in the season and a lovely outlook toward Anåfjället
Stadsåspåret is the most popular bog track in our track system, as it is a good length and lies centrally in the system with several options. From Stadsåspåret you can choose to extend your tour with Svartmorspåret or Ruvallspåret. It is also perfectly fine to ski just Stadsåspåret as a loop of its own, starting from the Vargmyren parking area.
At the northwest end of the track you will also find the windbreak shelter at Backvallen and the old Sami school. Waffles are also served here; check the Fjällriket Baggården website for the opening hours of the waffle café.
Distance: 6.8 km
Tip: The waffle café's opening hours can be found at www.fjallriketbaggarden.se, so enjoy a waffle when you stop at Backvallen
Svartmorspåret

Ski with wide views early in the season and a lovely outlook toward all the surrounding mountains
Svartmorspåret is the longest bog track in our track system and also the most beautiful, if you ask us. It is slightly rolling but largely flat and is easy for everyone to ski.
Along the northern stretch of Svartmorspåret there is a cabin that is open to everyone. You can take a break and have a coffee there, or seek shelter if the weather turns bad. At its northeast end you will also find the windbreak shelter at Backvallen and the old Sami school. Waffles are also served here; check the Fjällriket Baggården website for the opening hours of the waffle café.
Distance: 11.4 km
Tip: Bring a thermos, take a break at the open cabin at the north end of the track and enjoy the view with a cup of coffee
Byspåret / Vargmyren (the village track)

Is this your first time trying cross-country skiing, or do you just want to get out for a walk? Then Byspåret and Vargmyren are perfect for you!
Byspåret is a combined walking and skiing track suited to anyone trying cross-country skiing for the first time or who just wants to get out for a walk. Byspåret consists of two loops: one for walking and transport for the residents at Svartmor, and a ski track at Vargmyren.
Vargmyren is a flat 900 m loop that you reach directly from the parking area, and we recommend it as the place to start for anyone new to cross-country skiing.
Distance: 3.8 km
Tip: If you want to walk, remember that Vargmyren is for skiing only. Instead, take Busks väg northward and turn off onto Orrstigen to walk all the way to Baggården
Evagravspåret

Ski with wide views and explore the canyons Fiskhålsgraven, home to the protected dwarf char, and Evagraven, which is 800 meters long
There are several legends about where the name Evagraven, or the Eva Canyon, comes from. One tells of the Sami woman Eva who, in a fierce snowstorm, drove down into the ravine with reindeer and sled and died. Another tells of the young farmhand girl Eva from Ruvallen who vanished without a trace on the mountain sometime in the 17th century.
Evagraven is passed together with Fiskhålsgraven, and you can extend your ski tour by taking the scenic track to the Flatruet rock paintings.
Distance: 10 km
Tip: Book a ride with the passenger sled and you avoid the steep climb up the mountain
Flatruetspåret

The view is spectacular, with open views from the track toward Helags, Anåfjället and Mittåkläppen
Up here on the bare mountain the view is endless. Because Flatruet, a low mountain, is so flat and extensive, Flatruetspåret offers fantastically easy skiing for everyone, and nothing blocks the view. The track has sun from morning to evening and offers long, fine days of skiing on the bare mountain.
You reach Flatruetspåret and the mountain straight from your car. Drive up Sweden's highest public road and park at the top (975 m above sea level)
Distance: 15 km
Tip: Take the detour toward Väster-Stoljan and enjoy the panoramic view of Lunndörrsfjällen, Helags, Mittåkläppen and Anåfjället
Panoramaturen

Enjoy the view both north and south
The crown jewel, and the track that offers the most views of all. The tour runs on both the north and south sides of Flatruet, giving you views of the spectacular Lunndörrsfjällen on the north side and Anåfjället on the south side. A fantastic full-day tour!
You reach Panoramaturen and the mountain straight from your car. Drive up Sweden's highest public road and park at the top (975 m above sea level)
Distance: 27 km
Tip: Take the chance to check out the rock paintings, Evagraven and Fiskhålsgraven. Perfect places to visit halfway through the tour.
Randonnée-rundan

For the adventurous cross-country skier!
Have you heard of ski touring? But not on cross-country skis, surely? We offer an easy summit loop with spectacular views for all cross-country skiers. No fewer than two summits are included in the loop, Väster- and Öster-Stoljan, both over 1,000 m above sea level.
You reach Randonnée-rundan and the mountain straight from your car. Drive up Sweden's highest public road and park at the top (975 m above sea level)
Distance: 21 km
Tip: Pack a lunch and sit down in a sun pit on the south side of the tour.
