A little history
The works were founded after copper was found at Ramundberget in the 1600s and received mining rights in 1695. In the 1700s the copper mine was closed and ironworks were moved here from the Blixgruvan mine. The works were shut down in the late 1800s. Sources give different years for when it was in operation (one mentions 1686–1877).
