Flatruet lies west and north of Baggården. You can get from Baggården to Flatruet on foot, by bike, on cross-country skis or by car. On Flatruet, or more precisely at Ruändan, you will find the well-known rock paintings and spectacular ravines (known locally as "gravar"), such as Evagraven and Fiskhålsgraven. Sweden's highest-lying public road, the Flatruet road (Flatruetvägen), crosses Flatruet at 975 m above sea level, making the mountains easy to reach in both winter and summer. At the highest point it is easy to park, and you can hike or ski in every direction. In clear weather you can see Helags and Mittåkläppen to the west, the mighty Lundörrsfjällen massif to the north, as far as Vemdalen to the east, and Anåfjället to the south. Watching the sunset in summer is magical, and skiing in May in just a T-shirt is wonderful. There are good chances of spotting reindeer, moose, birds of prey, black grouse, ptarmigan, small birds and perhaps a wolverine. With its unique and spectacular nature, Flatruet is well worth a visit.
